About me

Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Agricultural Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Economics(DARE), University of Göttingen, Germany and a doctoral researcher at Leibniz-Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), Germany in the European Union funded project "Supporting Uptake Integrated Pest Management and Low-Risk Pesticide Use " (SUPPORT).

My PhD research focuses on farmers' adoption behaviour, preferences and trade-offs for adopting sustainable agricultural practices and the overarching aim of reducing pesticide use and risks, specifically the adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in 10 European countries namely, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Spain, Greece and Switzerland.

My research interests lie at the intersection of behavioural, agricultural, and environmental economics, as well as gender and youth dynamics. I apply both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to explore complex socio-economic issues, particularly in the areas of crops, livestock, and food systems, to generate actionable and policy-relevant insights.

Further, I have extensive research experience across Global South countries, namely, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, through roles at leading international research institutes such as the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), both based in Nairobi, Kenya.

I am a member of the Agricultural Economics Society (AES), the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), and the European Association of Agricultural Economists(EAAE), and I am passionate about inclusive, equitable, and sustainable agricultural systems.
